Today I am going to unveil some of the tricks which you can perform in windows 7. I personally tried these tricks, and like them and hope u will also like them. Some of my favorite tricks are listed below and you don’t need to be a computer geek to use them. Only requirement to perform these tricks is that you should have windows 7.
1.Remove send feedback link
This trick is for users who have win 7 beta versions installed on their systems.Windows 7 beta version has send feedback link at the top of every opened window title bar.
Now if you don’t want to see this link , follow the following steps :-
a. Go to start menu, go to regedit.msc and open it.
b. Browse to the following key:- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
c. Now find the FeedbackToolEnabled key on the right-hand side and you have to change its value to 0 (zero).
In case you want to revert it back, change the value to 3.
2. Customize the power button
If you restart the system, or log it off often, then trick is especially for you. Follow the following steps to customize the power button:-
a. Right click on the Start menu, and then select the properties.
b. Now choose the power button option that you use the most.
3. Speed up display of Thumbnails on the taskbar
A really cool thing about taskbar is that when you hover mouse over it, you see the thumbnail previews of all the open windows of that application. There is a slight delay before you see the thumbnails, so now I am going to speed up the thumbnail view.
Follow the following steps :-
a. Go to start menu , type regedit and then open the registry editor.
b. Browse to the following key:- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Mouse
c. Double click on the MouseHoverTime .the default value is 400(miliseconds). Change this value to 100 or 150(it’s your choice) and close the editor.
d. Now you will have to log off or restart you system to see the changes.
4. Add any folder to favorites
Now, you must have seen and used Favorites section in Windows Explorer. I was wondering If we could add our folders in it and found out this cool trick. Just perform the following steps and you will get your custom favorites list.
a. Navigate to the folder in Explorer you want to add to the Favorites , right click Favorites on the left hand side , and then select Add current location to Favorites.
b. Now you will have the fast access to you frequently used folder faster. Isn’t this great?
5. New Windows Explorer launch location
When you are using the Microsoft default file organization , then whenever you open Windows Explorer, it will open Libraries folder. If you don’t want to see this, change it to My Computer,or My documents or My Network places or your own folder using the following steps :-
a. Select the properties option by right clicking on the Windows Explorer icon on you task bar. Refer to the image below .
b. Go to the shortcut tab. Then select the target area.
